# Legal Capabilities: Governed Actions and Authorizations

> Reference the governed capabilities available in the Legal domain, including read, write, communication, and workflow actions with concrete examples.

Every action in the Legal domain is a governed capability. Capabilities define what can be done, who is authorized, the scope of the action, and the receipt that is generated. Write capabilities always require source-system feedback.

## Read Capabilities

| Capability | Example | Authorization |

| `legal.contract.read` | View contract terms, parties, and status | Counsel, Contracts Manager |
| `legal.matter.read` | View matter details and task list | Counsel, Legal Ops |
| `legal.policy.read` | View policy document and attestation log | All Legal Staff |
| `legal.risk.read` | View risk scores and mitigation plans | Counsel, Risk Owner |

## Write Capabilities
