# Legal Communication Patterns: Collaboration and Handoffs

> Understand how humans, Twin, and domain agents communicate and hand off context in the Legal domain.

Communication in the Legal domain follows structured patterns between people, Twin, and specialized agents. Every message carries context so nothing is lost across handoffs, even when sensitive matters move between counsel and contracts managers.

## Human to Human

* Counsel and contracts managers share redlines and comments in the workbench thread.
* Legal ops loop general counsel into high-risk matters with @mentions.
* Compliance updates are broadcast to legal ops through in-workbench alerts.

## Human to Twin

* Practitioners ask Twin in natural language: "What is the liability cap in the Acme agreement?" Twin assembles the answer from Ironclad and Google Drive context.
* Practitioners approve or reject Twin proposals, which Twin records for future reasoning.

## Twin to Agent

* Twin delegates term extraction to the Contracts Agent with full contract and precedent context.
* Twin asks the Compliance Agent to verify regulatory applicability before presenting a contract for approval.

## Agent to Agent

* The Risk Agent notifies the Compliance Agent when a vendor risk score crosses a threshold.
* The Matter Agent shares deadline updates with the Triage Agent for escalation routing.

## Agent to Tool

* Agents invoke source system APIs through connectors: Ironclad for workflow moves, DocuSign for envelope status, Salesforce for vendor lookups.
