# Product Engineering Domain: Operating Model and Needs

> How product and engineering teams run planning, delivery, and incident response in SpineWorkspace.

The Product Engineering domain serves teams that design, build, and operate software. SpineWorkspace projects this domain from the shared Spine Fabric so product managers, engineering managers, engineers, and designers operate from one set of linked entities rather than separate tools.

### Operating Model

Work moves through discovery, design, implementation, review, release, and operation. Each stage produces artifacts in separate systems: Figma for design, Linear or Jira for tickets, GitHub for code, PagerDuty and Datadog for operations. Spine Fabric unifies these artifacts so status, ownership, and risk are visible across the lifecycle.

### Responsibilities

* Maintain roadmap and sprint plans tied to real capacity and dependencies.
* Review and merge code with context from related issues, incidents, and monitoring.
* Respond to incidents with full history of releases, changes, and related tickets.
* Track release health and rollout metrics without switching tools.

### Key Performance Indicators

* Cycle time from ticket creation to merge and release.
* Incident mean time to resolution (MTTR) with full context.
* Backlog health and sprint completion rate.

### Non-Goals

* Replacing source systems entirely. Teams still file tickets in Linear or Jira and push code in GitHub.
* Operating as an isolated project tracker. The domain is a projection, not a separate app.
